About the Eco Stay & Experience
Perched in the untouched village of Nailbagi, Chopdiyal in the Garhwal Himalayas, this hand-built homestay is more than a stay — it’s a story of love, labour, and living in harmony with nature.
Run by Jitendra and Seema, a warm Garhwali couple, the homestay invites you to experience mountain life as it truly is — slow, grounded, and deeply human. Built lovingly with mud, stone, and intention, this two-room retreat reflects the spirit of craftsmanship and the comfort of belonging.
The 3 km forest walk that leads here isn’t just a trail — it’s a transition from noise to nuance. You’ll pass through oak and pine forests, meet villagers tending their fields, hear children chasing goats, and catch the aroma of woodfire meals drifting from terraced farms.
At Nailbagi, time moves differently. Wake up to bird calls echoing across valleys, sip your tea as the Himalayas turn gold, and end your day with Chulha-cooked dinners and stories under a starlit sky. The community here lives close to its roots, where every smile, every shared meal, and every sunset reminds you what home truly feels like.
Here, “offbeat” doesn’t mean giving up comfort — it means finding peace where the world has stayed real.
Come and experience the real mountain living, not as a tourist, but as a part of the land and its people.
