About the Eco Stay & Experience
Just a few hours from Delhi lies a hidden sanctuary where time slows down and nature takes the lead. Cradled in the serene slopes of the Aravalli Hills near Sariska, this eco-luxury retreat is not just a place to stay — it’s a place to breathe differently.
Mornings here unfold gently, with birdsong floating through the air and mist rolling over the forest trails. Your private cottage — hand-crafted with mud, stone, and lime — stays naturally cool and opens to sweeping views of rewilded gardens and quiet hillsides.
Each meal is a story of the land — freshly harvested from the retreat’s organic farms and served with the warmth of a home kitchen. Nothing rushed, nothing processed — just wholesome, honest food.
Days are designed for deep rest and quiet adventure. Stroll through forest paths where peacocks call, pause by hidden waterholes, or laze by the pool under a banyan tree. Those seeking connection can join intimate yoga sessions or try their hand at local craft workshops. And as night falls, the retreat transforms — bonfires crackle, stars fill the sky, and silence becomes the soundtrack.
At this eco retreat, you don’t just visit the Aravallis — you live them, slowly, mindfully, and in harmony with the land and its people.

Meet your Localdost - Varun Sahgal & Family

Meet Mr. Vikram Sahgal, Dr. Pritha Biswas, and Mr. Varun Sahgal — a family who left their city lives and careers to create something rooted in soil, simplicity, and sustainability. Mr. Vikram brought his lifelong love for ecology, Dr. Pritha her eye for design alongside her medical training, and Mr. Varun his gift for storytelling and passion for organic kitchen. What began as a personal search for home slowly blossomed into a shared space of care and community. Meals were cooked on open fires, locals joined hands, and every wall was shaped with natural materials. The place grew organically, not as a business first, but as a way of living in harmony with land and people and to be shared with like minded people. What they have created is more than a retreat — it is a story of resilience, community, and joy. A living reminder that a home built with heart can also nurture the world around it.

Sustainable Stewardship
4.0/5 MLD Sustainable Criteria
This property emits 90% less CO2 compared to an average hotel in Nainital. This means If you choose to stay at this Eco-resort over a typical resort in Nainital, you will be saving
0 Trees
0 Buckets Water
0% Less CO2
This is possible because our local dost (Varun Sahgal & Family) has made sure that the property fulfils the following Eco-Sustainable travel criteria:
This property scores 4.0/5 on MylocalDost’s Sustainable Criteria — a reflection of its commitment to conscious living. From supporting local livelihoods to protecting nature, every choice here is creating real, lasting impact. Here’s How:
Supports Local Communities & Cultures
Most staff come from nearby villages, many trained in-house, creating livelihoods rooted in dignity. Partnerships with locals promote indigenous art and sustainable crafts. Equal opportunities are offered to both men and women, further cultural workshops connect travellers to regional traditions in food, festivals, and stories.
Green Environment & Biodiversity Conservation
Over 10,000 indigenous trees planted on 9.5 acres have revived barren land, restored soil health, and invited birds and insects back. With traditional eco-construction, organic gardening, and a wildlife waterhole, the retreat ensures tourism nurtures nature rather than depletes it.
Air & Water Quality
Rainwater is harvested, filtered, and reused responsibly. Pool water is recycled to irrigate greenery, and natural cleaning products are used wherever possible. Guests are encouraged to conserve by reusing linens and following mindful water practices, protecting resources in this fragile ecosystem.
Waste Management
Zero-plastic operations ensure no single-use disposables. Organic waste is composted into natural manure, and reusables replace cutlery, bottles, and toiletries. Colour-coded bins for segregation, recycling partnerships, and guest awareness initiatives reinforce a circular approach to waste.
Temperature & Energy Management
Solar power supports night lighting in common areas, while rooms are designed for maximum light and ventilation. Energy-saving appliances are widely used, and guests are sensitised to switch off devices, embedding mindful energy use into the overall stay experience.
Travel & Transportation
Cab services are provided for pickups and transfers supporting local drivers. Guests are encouraged to travel responsibly using public transport as much as possible aligning with the retreat’s low-impact philosophy.
Food & Guest Experience
The kitchen sources organic dairy and produce from nearby farms and its own herb garden, reducing food miles. Menus feature local, authentic cuisine with organic/vegan options. Guests enjoy forest walks, yoga, meditation, craft workshops, community meals, and volunteering opportunities.
Education on Sustainable Living
Sustainability is visible and participatory — from on-ground practices to digital promotion. Staff receive training, plantation and garbage drives are organised, and guided nature walks educate guests, making each stay a lesson in living in harmony with the land.
